Chapel Barn
(In the Appreciation as "Chapel Farm thatched barn, and outbuildings")

(Scheduled in the 1974 Village Plan as a building which the Secretary of State had agreed to include in the statutory list,
with the note that it was "formerly included in the supplementary list")

Even if it were not obvious from the photograph, the barn's pretty sad condition in 1973 is clear from the description ~ "... patched cement and sand ... 3 rough old wood windows ... yard in front overgrown grass", but the Appreciation sums it up as forming a "splendid side to lane".

It became even more splendid when it was converted to (more precisely, rebuilt as) a fine house c.1980. It then remained with the same family until it changed hands when it was sold in May 2005.
