East Farm barns
1 ~ Small barn on Rodden Row
(Unlisted in 1973, but recommended for Grade II listing.)

Virtually lost to view now by the Russian vine, not called the "mile-a-minute" vine for nothing, but nonetheless a colourful softening agent for the barn.
2 ~ Barn at corner of Rodden Row and Rosemary Lane
(Scheduled in the 1974 Village Plan as a building which the Secretary of State had agreed to include in the statutory list as "Barns at East Farm on corner of Rosemary Lane and Rodden Row [one on corner only].")

Remarkably unchanged in 30 years, though the creeper was staking its claim on the roof here too, until the barn was wholly re-roofed in 2006.
3 ~ Buildings on north side of farmyard
(Unlisted)

In the earlier photograph, there is only one central door, but the change of use to stables has greatly improved both the look and the usefulness of the block.
4 ~ Barn attached to south end of house
(See East Farm house for details of the barn's listing.)

Here too, the greenery ~ this time it's Virginia creeper ~ was in full leaf when the right-hand photograph was taken. It has been here for a century or more, and has the curious habit of spreading in alternate directions over a 20-year cycle. More than once, the 1973 Appreciation made the point that hedges and wall-coverings such as this add to the charm of the village scene.
