3 and 5 Rodden Row

(Scheduled in the 1974 Village Plan as a building which the Secretary of State had agreed to include in the statutory list)

5 Rodden Row may at one time have housed a tannery: according to Dave Stevens, who lives here, there were once some outbuildings at the back which have since been demolished, and there was certainly a small slaughterhouse in Back Street.

The village had a saddler and at least one boot maker (William Cornick, listed in the 1871 and 1875 trade directories), so there would have been a market for tannery products.
